As summer got underway it was time for my first London wedding photography of the year in trendy Shoreditch. This included a couple of new venues for me. First up was St Etheldredas church, one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in the UK. It has some amazing stained glass and a great choir on a balcony at the back. Gemma got ready at her mum’s house in Crouch End before heading into the city. Once dressed and booted (or Jimmy Chooed) she jumped in a vintage Jaguar for the journey south.
Ceremony over, thankfully the rain had subsided when the time came to head east. All the guests jumped on to a couple of Routemaster buses for the short trip to The Tab Centre, a beautiful converted church in Shoreditch. The drinks reception took place on a balcony at the back (recurring theme?) before everyone took their seats downstairs for the wedding breakfast.
Speeches followed, complete with slideshow and giant pants, then the room was cleared for dancing and consumption of the giant jars full of (very strong) cocktails.
