This was my second time shooting at the pairing of a St. Etheldreda’s ceremony and a Tab Centre wedding reception. However, this time the preps were in a much more familiar spot at Town Hall Hotel.
Just when I thought I’d seen everything that the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green had to offer, I found myself in the biggest suite yet! Katie and her team of bridesmaids had set up camp here, and a steady flow of hair and make-up tinkering was well under way. Once the dress was on we headed out into the drizzle for the cab journey to Ely Place. The bridesmaids entered first in a range of different sparkly dresses. The resident choir was in place in front of one of the stunning stained glass windows.
Wedding Photography at The Tab Centre
After a fairly short ceremony, and a couple of readings, everybody piled onto Routemaster buses. Then there were mini bottles of fizz to get the party started. After a short journey across the City we arrived at The Tab Centre for the wedding reception. The huge space was decorated with giant gold balloons and the tables were filled with the same wild flowers as Katie’s bouquet. There was more fizz, and Easy Gourmet provided beautiful canapés. Meanwhile, musical genius Michael G. Moore provided the tunes. His party trick is to take requests from the guests, then he performs almost any song without the aid of sheet music.
The meal was interspersed with a few speeches, and a few outbreaks of dancing. After that, the main course was pies, served at the table from a selection in a tray! Once the two best men had finished the final speeches, the real ale bar was opened. There was time for a game of Musical Bingo, then the room was cleared whilst the couple cut their naked wedding cake. After that, the dancefloor opened and Michael on piano switched into party mode. I made my exit from this Tab Centre wedding before things got too messy!
