Sheena and Phil’s wedding took place at the fabulous 100 Barrington in Brixton. I shot a couple of weddings at this venue in its former guise of Brixton East. This time I got to experience the new(ish) outside area, the fab canopy and arches and the exquisite mother-of-pearl chandelier. I met Phil as he arrived at 100 Barrington and completed his preparations with the help of his brother and best man, Matt. Soon the guests started arriving, and the groom and party had the job of meeting and greeting.
With most of the guests seated in the courtyard, Sheena arrived with her parents in a black cab. The couple had their legal ceremony before the wedding day, so a friend was conducting a mock ceremony at 100 Barrington. There were a couple of readings from friends, and music from a violinist duo. Then the guests threw confetti as the couple headed out into the local streets for some alone time.
100 Barrington Wedding Ceremony
On their return to 100 Barrington, the newlyweds mingled with their guests in the courtyard. There were canapés and more violin music, and a few group photos in the sunshine. Some guests sheltered in the shade of the arch under the fantastic chandelier. A few guests filtered through to the inside space to check out a display of photos from the couple’s lives. Soon, it was time for everyone to take their seats, and Sheena and Phil made their entrance.

The wedding breakfast was preceded by speeches by Sheena’s father, and the bride herself. After a hearty meal, the groom and his brother did speeches too, followed by a free for all by other friends. After a brief break in the bar whilst the staff at 100 Barrington turned the room around, the couple performed their first dance. It was a lively one, followed by a lot of very lively dancing by the rest of the guests.
