The beginnings of autumn, and a trip to Lancashire for a wedding at Brockholes. I’ve photographed weddings in some interesting places over the years, but Laura & Luke’s wedding was my first time at a nature reserve! Brockholes consists of a collection of buildings floating on a lake, right next to the M6 near Preston. Not just any old buildings though. ‘Stirling Architecture Prize’-shortlisted, sustainable buildings.
Aside from the architecture, this day brought a bridal entrance to music from Star Wars, a splendid humanist ceremony, smoke on the water (from the BBQ), and the best cake-toppers I’ve ever seen.
