There are some amazing wedding venues in Derbyshire, and Thornbridge Hall is one of the most beautiful. Vicki and her friend had their hair and make-up done in one of the bedrooms above the Great Hall in the main house. Meanwhile, Ian and gathered family played a little pool downstairs. Not ones for superstition, Vicki even had time for a visit to the pool room. Then Ian headed up to the bedroom to hand out some gifts to close family and friends.

With a quick change into the dress it was time for the wedding ceremony. There was limited space for seating, so a few of the guests were stationed on the balcony. As a result, Vicki and her dad made a quick tour of the balcony to give everybody a good look. Their legal proceedings happened earlier, therefore the ‘ceremony’ was conducted by a friend with a reading by Ian’s dad. Outside, there was vintage blues music from The Washboard Resonators. This prompted a little dancing from Ian and his fellow dancing fans amongst the guests. We had a few small showers, but most people stayed out and enjoyed the gardens. The couple even had time for a little wander to the depths of the gardens whilst the guests were seated in the Carriage House.

The fabulous wedding breakfast was followed by some great speeches. Then we had the first dance and a set of modern pop and rock songs given a jazz twist by Bella & The Bourbon Boys. There were some serious moves thrown on the dance floor! Later on, everyone moved downstairs to the underground bar for cocktails.
