I’ve been keen to work at Peckforton Castle for some time, so it was great to hear from Caroline and Dave just a few weeks before their wedding at this amazing venue in Cheshire. Caroline helped reduce her stress levels by getting ready separately from her bridesmaids. She then collected them on her way to the ceremony! Meanwhile, Dave finished his preparations in the bridal suite with his parents.
The impressive floral bouquets in the civil ceremony room were a free gift from the previous day’s couple. Turned out they were just planning to throw them away! There was a short, but emotional ceremony, with a reading from Dave’s brother and music from a string quartet. After that, the couple ‘enjoyed’ a slighty precarious tandem ride over to the chapel for a blessing. Then they made the most of the autumn sunshine during their drinks reception, and found time for a quick wander in the woods surrounding the castle.
A receiving line preceded the wedding breakfast, as everybody headed into the impressive dining room. After the wedding breakfast we were treated to speeches, including from three of the parents. Then the cake was cut (with a sword as is only right and proper at a castle) and the dancing began. More castles please!
