Jessie & Carl held their smallish wedding ceremony at Lambeth Town Hall. This is a new London register office to add to my repertoire! With the Covid restrictions reduced or gone, everything was almost back to normal. However, many couples were still planning smaller than usual events. Which brings us to the Circular Hall at Lambeth were Jessie & Carl had gathered their families and friends. Many of Carl’s family had travelled from his native Sweden. The two families got to know each other whilst we waited for the bride.
Soon Jessie and her crew made their appearance, and there was a brief ceremony. We had some music and a couple of readings. Afterwards, the newlyweds’ daughter joined in with the signing of the register.

After the ceremony there was some fizz and an opportunity to catch up inside Lambeth Town Hall. Shortly after, everyone headed down the road to the couple’s lovely nearby house. The weather was good enough for everyone to head up to the roof terrace. From there they could take in the excellent views across London. A guest had brought along a huge 32 year-old bottle of Perrier Jouët champagne to share around.

Meanwhile, downstairs a dining table had been set up along the length of the couple’s living space. The wedding breakfast was soon served, and there were a couple of speeches. Later, there were a few extra guests, and some more food in the form of a buffet. Soon it was time for the couple cut their wedding cake, which was a big fruity cheesecake. Jessie and Carl even managed a quick first dance!
