A wedding that started in the centre of Henley-on-Thames before heading down river. Helena got ready at the Hotel du Vin around the corner from the church with family young and old. She then headed to the ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Henley town centre. Oliver was there waiting patiently as the guests congregated. After the ceremony Helena and Oliver lead the guests down to the river Thames.
Once there, they climbed aboard a boat which took them along the river to Bolney Ferry Boathouse. Owned by friends of the family, Helena had spent many happy days there in her childhood. Therefore, it was the perfect choice for their reception. They had a marquee set up in the grounds next to the river. Everybody gathered in the garden for Pimms and canapés, and a caricaturist kept everyone entertained. Soon everyone took their seats in the marquee for the wedding breakfast which consisted of hog roast. After dinner the fizz was poured and the speeches began. The evening drew to a conclusion with a couple of sets by a swing band, and a first dance by the newlyweds.
