My previous weddings at Cambridge Cottage and Kew Gardens had always been in summer when the place is in full flower and leaf. That’s not to say it isn’t still a beautiful place to get married at Christmas. And they do a good Christmas tree!
Katherine began her day across Kew Green at the Coach & Horses. Her parents had been involved in a traffic collision the evening before. So understandably, stress levels were a little higher than usual. Luckily everyone was unhurt and it didn’t impact on the rest of the day. Once ready it is just a short walk over to Cambridge Cottage where Visaal was meeting and greeting.
The couple had a quick and simple civil ceremony, with a big crowd for the register signing ‘shot’! After that, there was fizz and Indian themed canapés. Then everyone headed out to the land train for a quick tour of Kew. Christmas trees visited, and non-wedding visitors waved it, it was back into the warm for the speeches and the wedding breakfast. A gentle evening followed with the cutting of the cake, a smattering of dancing and a few board games.
