My first ever wedding in the centre of Oxford found me at the historic Bodleian Library. The venue has three amazing rooms and is housed in a remarkable group of buildings in the heart of the university. Some of the buildings date from the 17th century. The design of the interiors has to be seen to be believed, and it has the best roof game of any venue. It is also one of the darkest venues I have worked at. This was made trickier by the late afternoon ceremony in mid-November. Cameras set to maximum sensitivity!
Helen got ready with her mum and sister across the road at the Old Bank hotel. The ceremony then took place in Convocation House at the rear of the complex. Following the ceremony everyone headed through to the Divinity School. Then many of the guests enjoyed a tour of the library. I followed Helen and Oliver on a little wander around the nearby streets for some sneaky photos. After that, I made a quick exit as they sat down to eat.
