A church that’s not a church for a One Marylebone wedding! Having shot Anna’s sister Katie’s wedding at the Amadeus in 2007, and her friend Carly’s wedding at Loseley Park last year, I was amongst old friends at this one! Familiar territory too, as Katie also got ready in Anna’s apartment. I got chance to sneak off this time to the Charlotte Street Hotel where David was getting ready with his brothers and other groomsmen.
Preparations complete, we headed round the corner to One Marylebone. Formerly Holy Trinity church, this Grade I-listed building was built to celebrate the defeat of Napoleon. Sitting on its own island opposite Great Portland Street tube station, it was converted into a venue in 2008. It is now one of the most unique venues in London. The wedding ceremony was held in the East Gallery, complete with mystery readings. After that, the guests were treated to drinks and canapés in the West Gallery. Then they headed downstairs to the amazing Soane Hall for the wedding breakfast. It’s an amazing setting, with slightly tricky lighting, but lots of atmosphere!
