Raquelle and Mark planned a cosy winter wedding at Peak Edge Hotel, overlooking the Peak District National Park. This four-star, boutique hotel near Chesterfield is the perfect rural retreat combining traditional and modern design. The late November wedding was very kind, with glorious sunshine streaming in through the windows.
The bride got ready in one of the 27 bedrooms with her mum and bridesmaids. Downstairs, the groom gathered with the men and greeted the guests. The ceremony took place in what is now the restaurant at Peak Edge. As the guests gathered there, the bridal preparations came to a conclusion.

A string quartet played as the bridal party entered for the civil ceremony. Raquelle was escorted in on her father’s arm, and after a short ceremony with a couple of readings, the deed was done. After making their exit to the bar, the guests followed for drinks and nibbles. Meanwhile, the staff at Peak Edge hotel turned the room around ready for the wedding breakfast.

As the winter sun set, the guests enjoyed their meal. The happy couple did the rounds of their gathered family and friends, and soon it was time for speeches. Speakers included the father of the bride, the groom, his son and the best man. With the official bits of the day over and done with, the newlyweds snuck off to their room for a glass of bubbly with the best man and his wife.
They returned to the party to find the room turned around again. With the cake cutting done, and a first dance completed on the newly installed dance floor, the DJ got the party started.
