Regulars to my blog will notice that I shoot weddings all over the UK and usually have a couple of hours drive each way. However, Micaela and Steve’s wedding at Breadsall Priory (the oldest hotel in the Marriott chain, fact fans!) was the second VERY local wedding for me this year. And there’s still another one to come.
The forecast was for rain all day, but thankfully it stopped by the time the reception was in full swing. The day began in the stables where Micaela was getting her hair done, then taking me to the in-house salon for make-up. After that, I went up to Steve’s room, back to the bride and finally to the main house for the ceremony. Steve’s two daughters provided petals, and the two young page boys were in charge of rings. With the deed done everyone headed downstairs for chocolate-covered strawberries.

With the weather all cleared up, the guests got their opportunity to throw confetti. After that, they headed into the dining room for the wedding breakfast, complete with harp accompaniment. We had a speech, once Steve had taken himself to one side for 5 mins to write it! Then everyone got to enjoy the sunshine and the gardens before returning for dancing and the vintage photo booth.
