A small, Thursday wedding at Blackbrook House near Belper in the Amber Valley region of Derbyshire. With most of their teacher friends at work, fellow teachers Lisa and Gareth had mostly family at their wedding. The bride got ready in the upstairs of this fantastic Victorian house, with the help of a couple of bridesmaids. Meanwhile, the groom made sure everything was perfect downstairs.
The couple had a a small civil ceremony, which was followed by Pimms and afternoon tea outside in the garden. You can’t go wrong with sarnies and an amazing selection of cream cakes!

With their bellies filled, the wedding guests headed back into Blackbrook House for speeches. The father of the bride went fairly easy on his daughter, and the groom said all of the right things. The best man’s speech raised the stakes a little, and featured all manner of incriminating evidence, even including speed camera images.

The afternoon turned into evening, and with the formalities complete it was time for the remaining guests to arrive. They were treated to a BBQ buffet, then a personalised quiz about the happy couple. After that, the couple cut their wedding cake and performed a first dance. As the sun set and the music kicked in, the dancing began in earnest. The couple had also set up a video diary room to distract the guests, and to give them something fun to watch back later.
