I do weddings at all sorts of venues, but visiting a sprawling stately home estate always has a special vibe, especially in the spring. Carrie got ready at home with her family before jumping in a vintage Rolls Royce for the journey to the ceremony. Her destination was St. Peter’s church in Sharnbrook, just north of Bedford, where Steve was being the host with the most. After a simple church ceremony the couple jumped in the Rolls again and headed over the M1 to The Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey.
What started as a gloomy day with April showers threatened, soon turned into a glorious summery afternoon. There was a drinks reception outside in the sunshine accompanied by soothing harp music. As the afternoon drew on the guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast. There were a raft of speeches, complete with the popular guest sweepstake on the length. Then the lights dimmed, the DJ hit the decks and the couple had their first dance. With the dance floor full, I made my exit!
