Before their big wedding party (see that here!), I photographed Rosie and Chaz’s civil ceremony at Newby Hall and Gardens. Newby is a fantastic 17th century house near Ripon, apparently built with the help of Christopher Wren. It’s surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens, with the river Ure running alongside.
All of this beauty wasn’t enough for Chaz, who added a display of his beloved classic car collection out front! The guests gathered in the Statue Gallery whilst the couple had their interviews with the registrars. With everyone seated in the library, the ceremony began. The bride made her jubilant entrance on her mum’s arm, then we enjoyed a fun ceremony with a few moments of banter between best man and registrar. That will be the last time he jokes about losing the rings!
Wedding Photographer at Newby Hall and Gardens
After completing the paperwork the newlyweds grabbed their kids, then led the guests into the gardens. There were a few glasses of fizz, and a chance for everyone to enjoy the cars. After that, a quick paddle in the pond to cool off, before Rosie threw her bouquet. The afternoon ended with a quick ride on the miniature railway at the bottom of the Newby Hall gardens. More wedding venues should install fun train rides!
The couple exited in a gorgeous classic Aston Martin DB6, followed by their family in the rest of the convoy.
