Brothers and food are two things that remind me of Mary & Kern’s wedding at Belmond Le Manoir. Mary’s brother was very keen to capture as much of the day as he could with his own camera. He popped up all over the place with his little compact. And no, you’re not seeing things; Kern’s best man was his identical twin brother. The couple got ready at a nearby hotel before heading off to the funky looking church in Thame.
After their ceremony at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Thame, we all headed to Raymond Blanc’s Two Michelin-starred restaurant and hotel, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. Great food was interspersed with games on the lawn. There were also emotional and funny speeches from Mary’s dad, Kern and his brother. There were numerous cakes cooked by members of the wedding party, and Raymond Blanc was asked to judge his winner. Although he refrained from showing any favouritism in the end. After dinner I went for a little walk around the gardens with the couple to get some photos before heading off.
