OK Magazine Wedding Photography

Something new for me, as OK Magazine wanted to feature Faye and Iwan’s wedding photography. A few years ago I did a wedding that featured in Hello! Magazine, but they sent their own photographer. Made it a bit trickier! Scroll to the bottom to see some images of the magazine feature!

The couple started their day at the lovely Calcot & Spa near Tetbury. Appropriate as Faye was in the Tetbury suite with her bridesmaids, family and the couple’s two Pomeranians Bao and Bear. She had friends Ross from Collections Hair Club and Nealey Leah on hair and make-up duty respectively. Hair and make-up artists glamming her up is something Faye has lots of experience of, from her career in theatre and television. After the mother of the bride arrived we had a few dramatic tears as they exchanged gifts.

Over in the main house Iwan was getting suited and booted with his gang. Very nice emerald double-breasted suits from Mr Guild no less. It was a pretty hot day, and with no air-con in the room the guys soon headed off to Shipton Moyne, mainly to avoid melting. There the guests were gathering for pre-ceremony drinks. Back in the bride’s world it was time to get into her Monreal Bridal wedding dress, with help from Sian, owner of Tilly’s bridal boutique.

Wedding Photography at St John the Baptist Church in Shipton Moyne

The guests had made their way from the Cat & Custard Pot pub to St John the Baptist church a short walk up the road. Red Floral had filled the church with gorgeous floral displays. A string quartet kept everyone entertained as transport issues delayed the bride. However, she son arrived in a beautiful vintage car driven by her dad Carl. Unbeknownst to Faye, the organist hadn’t turned up. Luckily her teacher from drama school, who was a guest and a musical director in musical theatre, stepped up!

The traditional and personal ceremony featured readings by family members and friends, and Bao and Bear also featured. Faye’s friend Victoria from Coronation Street performed a Des’ree song whilst the couple signed the paperwork. Then everybody headed outside for a big group shot in front of the church. Finally, the couple ran the confetti gauntlet, with petals provided by Confetti Bee.

Cotswolds Marquee Wedding Photography

The wedding reception took place on land surrounding a friend’s house just outside Shipton Moyne. OK Magazine had given me a list of posed photography with particular celebrity wedding guests, so the first job was to get those out of the way! After that, I had a little time for some candid shots of guests. Next, everyone headed into the marquee (by Bisley Marquees) closely followed by the happy couple making their entrance.

After the wedding breakfast we were treated to some fun speeches by the father of the bride, the groom and the best men. One of the best men had even written a song about the couple, which he played with the help of a ukulele. The daytime events ended with the couple cutting (and biting) the cake, and a sneaky smearing of cake on face.

Faye & Iwan got the evening started by performing their first dance. One of the bridesmaids sang a couple of songs, backed by Steven Reid Williams and his blues band. After that the Old Dirty Brasstards played brass covers of well-known hits to a full dance floor. During a break in the music, everyone headed across the road to watch a firework display. On their return the couple ran a second gauntlet, this time one of (slightly unsparkly) sparklers!
