A summer wedding at The Pig-and The Village Pub in the beautiful village of Barnsley, near Cirencester in the Cotswolds. This fantastic and historic building used to be known as Barnsley House, before being acquired by The Pig Hotel group in early 2024. It’s one of my favourite venues, and one I love returning to.
Eylem and her bridal party made up of family and friends, prepared for the day in the Secret Garden room. Beautification was in the very capable hands of Jodie, and always great to see a familiar face! Tom and his best man got ready around the corner in a slightly smaller room. After having their buttonholes secured, they headed into the fab Rosemary Verey gardens for the outdoor ceremony.

As the string quartet struck up, everyone awaited the arrival of the bride across the lawn. The young flowergirls led the way, closely followed by Eylem’s sisters. Tom did his best to hold it together! The formal bits of the wedding ceremony were completed in The Pig Cotswolds’ gothic Summer House. The couple then headed back out for a couple of readings and the exchange of rings. After getting their ‘kiss’ on, they led the guests to the main gardens for drinks and nibbles.

Soon, it was time for the wedding breakfast, and the venue staff called everyone into the restaurant. The newlyweds made their entrance, then there was time for food, and some speeches. Afterwards, we all headed outside as the staff turned the room around for dancing. Finally, the couple performed a first dance, then the band got the party jumping. There was plenty of dancing from young and old!
