A London wedding that took in lots of the sights, ending at Westminster Boating Base. Bessie and Ben organised a boat trip up and down the Thames following their ceremony at St Lukes in Battersea. Firstly, I popped along to the couple’s home in west London to capture all of the preparations. Bessie had help from family and friends, and of course the couple’s daughter helped too. Once she was in her Ian Stuart dress she jumped into a vintage taxi to travel to the church ceremony.
Being told to stay at the back of the church isn’t always a huge hardship, but St Lukes is massive. Even with my birdwatching lens it was a struggle. Ceremony over, a pair of Routemaster buses took the guests to Millbank pier, closely following the wedding taxi. There, everyone boarded the Erasmus for a potter up and down the river. The trip gave everyone a great view of Tower Bridge and all the great riverside attractions. Soon it moored at the reception venue in Pimlico for the wedding breakfast and evening party.
