Camila + Chris
Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding Photography, London
A return trip to the Chainstore at Trinity Buoy Wharf, this time for the whole day. Camila got ready at home with her sister and friend who were on bridesmaid duty, with another friend doing hair and everyone doing their own make-up. There was some last minute speech-writing by bride and bridesmaid, and some very organised sticking of speeches to cards. A much safer option than trying to read off a phone! Then we all headed across the river to the venue.
Awaiting us at Trinity Buoy Wharf was a gaggle of guests, and a small forest of what looked like silver birch trees. With everyone seated there was a humanist ceremony prepared and conducted by the fabulous Zena Birch. I can’t impress on you enough how much a bespoke ceremony adds to the enjoyment of everyone present, including the photographer! Legal recognition for humanist ceremonies NOW!! Despite moody skies the weather stayed dry for everyone to enjoy the usual refreshments with the great views of Docklands just outside.
Speeches took place between courses, one of which required crowd-participation in the act of beef carving. A course, not a speech. Dessert was a ‘help yourself’ festival of pavlova and there was a pop-up gin bar. Then the sun set and it was time for a sneaky speech from Camila, a bouquet toss, then dancing with tunes provided by The MP3s.
