There was a North African theme to this wedding at The Roof Gardens in Kensington. My third wedding of this particular weekend, Michele and Amine’s event was a very relaxed, informal and cosmopolitan one. The bride (a mix of Uruguayan/South African) and groom (Algerian) had flown in from their home in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, some of their family and friends had come from the four corners of the world to be there.
The bride got ready with a couple of close family members and friends at the Number Sixteen boutique hotel. She wore a very classic dress, and a hat with a small veil. The hat had amazing yellow flowers to fit the colour scheme of the day. Once ready she jumped in a posh cab for the journey around the corner to The Roof Gardens.

I found myself totally surrounded by guests with cameras and camcorders during the ceremony, which is a first. Afterwards, everyone headed out to the amazing rooftop gardens for virgin mojitos by the hundred and dancing to North African music. There were a few speeches before the guests took their seats for the al-fresco wedding breakfast in the sunshine. The bride and groom cut their cake before taking their own seats.

After dinner a sneaky faction (mainly Argentinians) watched the World Cup final in a separate room! Meanwhile, the rest of the guests filled the dance floor. The couple did their first dance and everyone soon joined in. Later in the evening there was a barbecue and lots of traditional mint tea was drunk.
