I love a wedding reception in a pub, and The Bull and Last is one of the best. This was another weekend of glorious weather, and my first double-header of this particular year. First was Ruth and Andrew’s fairly intimate, but very glamorous North London wedding. The bride got ready at her mum’s house surrounded by friends on bridesmaid duty. Once ready, and after a sushi lunch, she jumped in a white London taxi for the journey to Upper Street.
The wedding ceremony took place in the fabulous council chamber at Islington Town Hall. There were a few tears, but it was a very happy occasion. After some confetti on the town hall steps, everyone headed to the pub next to Hampstead Heath. They had exclusive use of the upstairs room, a room sporting the largest stuffed moose head I’ve ever seen! There was a great meal with a few speeches, and then the happy couple cut their very stripy cake. A little bit of dancing, as space would allow, but a relaxed end to a very chilled-out day.
