This was my first visit to Shoreditch House for a wedding. It was also the second of my three visits to Town Hall Hotel in 2011, and what a lovely venue it is too. For the uninitiated, they took derelict and abandoned Bethnal Green Town Hall and converted it into a fantastic hotel, chock full of art and cool mid-century designer furniture. But best of all, they left the circular council chamber intact to use for wedding ceremonies.
The observant ones amongst you will spot that it was also my second wedding in three weeks to feature the same Jenny Packham dress. BLING!
Rajinder is a work colleague of Feryal, the bride at one of my weddings in France in 2010, so it was good to have friendly faces present. An increasingly common feature at my weddings thanks to lots of lovely recommendations! Rajinder and Paul live in the heart of über-trendy Shoreditch and chose to have their wedding in their ‘manor’, so after their ceremony (complete with a harp version of Blur’s ‘The Universal’) everyone headed to the Secret Garden at local members club Shoreditch House.
And I still didn’t get around to mentioning the female best man, the Karma Kar or the incredible view of the City!
