Eimear and Ben held their Irish-American wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park on the edge of London. This Grade II-listed mansion sits on a high point overlooking the Thames Valley. It is also the only licensed venue in a London Royal Park. Eimear got ready with friends and family at her home in Richmond, with a friend on make-up duty. She had a brief wander to a nearby salon to get her hair done. There she met her sister and other bridesmaids. Once dressed the wedding party headed to the ceremony in Putney.
The wedding ceremony took place at Our Lady of Pity and St. Simon Stock Roman Catholic church. Or St. Simon’s Putney to its friends. Ben and his family were there to greet the bridal party, and there were a group of friends singing from the organ balcony. After the wedding ceremony and communion, the congregation headed to Richmond Park for the reception. There everyone gathered on the terrace overlooking the Thames Valley for drinks, entertained by a folk band. The staff at Pembroke Lodge served the wedding breakfast inside the venue, followed by speeches. After that, the couple cut the cake of cheeses, then it was time to dance!
