My next wedding took me to High Road House in Chiswick for Sophia and Jake’s big day. With a half-Swedish, half-Greek bride and a half-English, half-Jamaican groom there was a real mix of languages and guests, even with the small number of guests. The day started at the venue, a members club in Chiswick, West London where both the bride and groom got themselves ready. With the help of friends and family they were soon on their way to the ceremony.
Westminster Register Office at the Old Marylebone Town Hall was the venue for said ceremony. Jake was waiting patiently in the Pimlico Room and Sophia was soon entering arm on arm with her father. After the short but sweet ceremony, the couple exited the venue down the famous steps, and through a cloud of confetti. Then everyone got on to a Routemaster bus back to High Road House for their reception and party.
The meal featured diplomatic flags for the tables to represent the many different nationalities present. After the meal, there was table football and video games downstairs, and the couple cut one of their many amazing cakes by chocolatier William Curley. Then the dancing started, and presumably continued long into the night!
