My first wedding at the Andaz Hotel (formerly the Great Eastern) on Liverpool Street in the City of London. Welsh couple Becky & Chris live in Bath in Somerset. After visiting London on a weekend trip they decided the glamorous, design-led interior of this hotel would be the perfect venue for their wedding. They made use of five separate rooms for the different sections of their day. First stop was one of the huge rooms upstairs for the preparations. The bride had a bridesmaid friend and her parents for company. Once dressed she headed down to meet a nervous looking Chris who was having a sneaky beer in Lady Abercorn’s Pub.
The ceremony was held in the light and airy Fenchurch room, before the guests moved to the double-height Gallery. There was confetti, drinks, canapés and a few tears as the groom remembered departed family members. The couple also found time for a wander around Broadgate to get some fresh air and time to themselves. I managed to get a couple of snaps before the estate security had a ‘quiet word in my ear’!
On returning to the hotel, everyone took their seats in the Andaz Studio for the wedding breakfast and a few speeches. Then the last room of the day was the amazing Masonic Temple, venue for dancing into the night.
