This wedding at Mitton Hall in Lancashire was one of my favourite weddings this year. Not because the father of the groom photographed the group shots (I’m free!). Nor because I had my own place setting and three course meal with the guests (never requested, but always gratefully received). It wasn’t because the venue was very nice (it was). Neither was it because the female vicar was accommodating (more on that later). It was because Laura and Simon are two lovely people who were very excited about their wedding photography. They had surrounded themselves with lots of lovely friends and family who helped make my day very enjoyable.
Preparations at Mitton Hall were organised with almost military precision, then off to St. Mary’s & All Saints Church in nearby Whalley. This was the first of two weddings I photographed in October, both with female vicars conducting the ceremony. However, both had completely differing approaches to wedding photography. Luckily for Laura and Simon their vicar was of the ‘help the photographer capture a great record of the ceremony’ school!

Returning to Mitton Hall I had the run of the reception (no groups remember). Then it was time for speeches and a tasty meal. Then a quick wander through the gardens with the happy couple and then dancing. Quite full-on dancing, with lots of masks. Enjoy!
