A return to Somerset for Angela and Glenn’s wedding at Coombe Lodge near Bristol. The weather was unexpectedly very kind to them, allowing an outdoor ceremony! Angela got ready in a room upstairs in the venue with a small circle of friends on hand. Meanwhile the guests gathered out in the sunshine with the groom. Their brief civil ceremony included a couple of readings and an opportunity for the paparazzi to do their thing. Everyone then headed round to the other side of the house for Pimms on the terrace.
It was a very colourful day, with some very striking floral displays. There was also the tallest cake stand known to man (may not be true) stuffed full of rainbow cupcakes. The tables had a 1980’s television theme to the tables, with many reminders of my youth! After the wedding breakfast we enjoyed speeches, including a Star Trek-themed costume change by the best man at the groom’s expense. With dinner completed a casino appeared in the hall for the guests to chance their arm. Later in the evening there was dancing and fireworks.
