My third trip to the west coast of Argyll in Scotland for a Crear wedding. However, this was my first during the summer. It was also my first wedding at Crear featuring an actual Scottish couple!
Nicola got ready in the venue itself, whilst Steven prepared for the day at the nearby Caisealrag Cottage. This gave Nicola the opportunity to fine-tune the main room. She had filled this with an array of decorations, furniture and crockery that she collected in the year leading up to the wedding. She had to hire a van to get it all there! Once ready everyone headed up the road to the remote South Knapdale church in the village of Achahoish for the ceremony.
We then returned to Crear via the nearby beach, giving the newlywed couple an opportunity for ten minutes alone to catch up. They also spent a lot of time looking for a suitable seashell to commemorate the occasion. Luckily the weather held off just long enough for a wander, and then tipped it down mere minutes after we arrived back at the venue. After cutting the cake (a family-made special) we had hilarious speeches from Nicola’s dad, the groom and the best man. Next came the wedding breakfast and coffee, before we had the first dance. This was swiftly followed by some ceilidh action with music courtesy of the brilliant The Honey Moons.
