This may be hard to remember, and you may think I’m fibbing, but the last weekend in May was actually hot and sunny. I know! Sarah and Richard probably can’t believe their luck as weekend after weekend has since passed with almost constant rain. Anyway, enough about the weather.

National Trust-owned Nostell Priory was the venue on this glorious day, with the ceremony in the Orangery (with sweating groom), followed by the drinks reception in the Rose Garden (with magician) and then speeches and wedding breakfast in the Riding School (with another glass roof – yay!).

The rarely seen glowing ball of gas in the sky brought out lots of sunglasses which gave me the opportunity for a sneaky self-portrait. Can you see me?
