A visit to the Wiltshire Cotswolds for a second beautiful Castle Combe wedding. Lucy and Erik saw how successful Lucy’s older sister Annabel’s wedding in 2011 was, and recreated it! So it was back to Britain’s prettiest village, Castle Combe in Wiltshire. Lucy and her bridesmaids prepared at the Manor House Hotel in the centre of the village. After that, there was a ceremony at St. Andrew’s Church next door to the hotel.

After the ceremony everyone headed up the hill for afternoon tea in Lucy’s parents’ garden. There was time for a few posed photos and lots of clotted cream. Finally they had a marquee reception in the field next door to the house. One noticeable difference were the blue and yellow flowers and decorations all around the marquee to recognise the Swedish contingent (the groom and his family). Plus, Lucy and Erik’s wedding took place the day before my son Eric’s birthday, which was an interesting coincidence!
I was lucky enough to bump into Lucy again at her bridesmaid Victoria’s wedding at Petersham Nurseries in Richmond a couple of years later. Always nice to see familiar faces at weddings!
