Top Ten London
Wedding Venues
As a wedding photographer, there’s nothing more thrilling than capturing love stories against the backdrop of London’s enchanting scenery. With its eclectic mix of history, glamour, and charm, the capital offers an array of wedding venues. They all promise to provide a canvas for untold unforgettable moments. In this post I explore my top ten favourite wedding venues in London, each a unique and picturesque setting, where vows are sealed in style.
Asylum Chapel
Ready to take the plunge in the heart of Peckham?
Asylum is a hidden gem that combines historical allure with modern romance. This Grade II-listed chapel, with its stained glass windows and candlelit, rustic vibes, offers a unique, atmospheric, and truly intimate setting for weddings. It’s the perfect spot for couples looking to say “I do” surrounded by up to 120 of their closest friends and family. I’ve worked at Asylum many times over the last decade, in all four seasons, with large and small weddings, and it’s always a pleasure to return.

The Werkz
I love a bit of industrial chic, and this former stables and metalworks is a great example. The Werkz is a Victorian warehouse turned goth nightclub and wedding venue, and is the epitome of cool. This edgy venue can host up to 100 guests for dinner in the Glass House, but it’s the magnificent glass-roofed Courtyard that makes this venue unique. Every wedding I’ve photographed at The Werkz has felt totally distinctive, and I love working there.

Searcys at The Gherkin
Sky-high love? Searcys at the Gherkin offers a bird’s-eye view of London for your big day. Imagine saying your vows surrounded by your guests, with panoramic views of the city’s skyline as your backdrop. After dark the city begins to sparkle, and the vista reaches a new level. It’s the embodiment of modern luxury and romance.
You can hire the whole of the top two floors of the building for your big day, with your ceremony and reception on either. There are also private dining rooms on the floor below for small weddings.

Islington Town Hall
For those seeking timeless elegance, Islington Town Hall is the way to go. This imposing listed building, with its grand façade and sweeping marble staircase, screams sophistication. Every one of its seven ceremony rooms makes for the perfect backdrop to your formalities, from 2 to 85 guests.
The historic Council Chamber with its red leather and oak pews, and its stained glass windows, is the biggest of the rooms. Whilst the chamber retains a level of intimacy thanks to the seating arrangement, The Richmond Suite and Room 99 are perfect for smaller weddings. There are also four small but equally elegant spaces for just you and a couple of witnesses.

The Tab Centre
The Tab Centre in the heart of trendy Shoreditch stands as a beacon of charm and versatility, making it an exceptional wedding venue. Its blend of historical significance and contemporary style offers couples a unique canvas to paint their love story. Its bright and spacious ivory grand hall, complete with wrought-iron balustraded gallery, can host up to 200 of your nearest and dearest. My weddings at The Tab have been some of my most relaxed and fun. More please!

Hackney Town Hall
Step into history at Hackney Town Hall, where art deco details set the scene for a classic celebration. With a choice of spaces, you can host a grand affair or an intimate gathering, all while basking in the timeless elegance of this iconic venue. The wood-panelled Committee Rooms and Council Chamber, with their imposing chandeliers, make perfect ceremony locations. After recent improvement works the 1930s building has been brought into the 21st century, and now features two state-of-the-art glass-roofed atria, giving you the sense being outside no matter the weather. Perfect for ceremonies and receptions showered in natural light.

100 Barrington
100 Barrington, named after its address on Barrington Road in Brixton, started life as a furniture factory and retains that industrial vibe. It has since spread out into the neighbouring railway arches, and added a contemporary glass and metal roof over the outside space. It’s a brilliant blank canvas to make your dream wedding come to life, although the great bar area comes with Chesterfield sofas and a huge mother-of-pearl chandelier!
It is licensed for wedding ceremonies, and can host up to 120 guests inside the warehouse, or out in the yard. Probably one of the most laid-back and cool venues right now, and I’m keen to get back.

Trinity Buoy Wharf
Looking for a waterfront love story? Trinity Buoy Wharf, nestled along the River Thames, offers an urban-chic setting for your big day. The Chain and Buoy Store are adjoining spaces that can both accommodate up to 300 guests, making this venue a top pick for couples who want a blend of industrial charm and scenic beauty. The site is home to London’s only lighthouse and has a large riverside terrace from which you can enjoy the views of the River Thames, the O2 Arena, and the Docklands skyline. You can also use their dedicated pier, so your wedding party can arrive by boat which is great if you have a ceremony elsewhere in London.

Town Hall Hotel
Bethnal Green’s hidden gem, Town Hall Hotel, blends Edwardian and Art Deco vibes for a wedding that oozes class. Host up to 150 guests in the Council Chamber and De Montfort Suite.
Old Royal Naval College
Last but certainly not least, the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich is the epitome of grandeur and history. The Painted Hall, with its jaw-dropping beauty, can host up to 200 guests, creating a regal backdrop for your love story.
