A lot of nerves on show at Nicola and Alex’s non-rainy wedding at Haughley Park Barn. Alex’s father is quite ill, and although he was pleased he was able to make it to the wedding, it added an extra level of stress that most grooms don’t have to deal with. Combined with nerves about the ceremony and his speech, it’s a wonder he didn’t run off and hide. Which is what the flowergirl almost did, but was eventually encouraged into the ceremony.

Ceremony over with, everybody got to enjoy the sunshine outside before heading into the barn for food. We also had repeated plays of ‘Zorba the Greek’ by the DJ (?) and the aforementioned speeches. Nicola and Alex are big Foo Fighters fans, using their music in their ceremony. They delayed their honeymoon by a couple of days so that they could see the band at Milton Keynes Bowl.
