From North Somerset I headed down to Yeovil for Emma and Charlie’s wedding at Brympton House (also known as Brympton D’Evercy). It’s a gorgeous old manor house, parts of which date from the 13th century, with it’s own church in the grounds.
Following an eventful ceremony, featuring the common or garden sobbing groom and a bridal wasp attack, everyone headed to the terrace for drinks before a brief shower forced everyone into the great hall. Then it was upstairs to the large dining room (lots of space for me to move around – yay!) for speeches, wedding breakfast, a sing-a-long, and a few more speeches. Finally, everyone headed over to the stables where the DJ and his frankly astounding lighting rig (another yay!) were waiting to get the evening party started.
