As summer (ha!) got underway it was time for my first London wedding of the year, and a couple of new venues for me. St Etheldreda’s church is one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in the UK, with some amazing stained glass and a great choir on a balcony at the back.
Thankfully the pre-ceremony rain had subsided when the time came to head east, and all the guests jumped on to a couple of Routemaster buses for the short trip to The Tab, a beautiful converted church in Shoreditch. The drinks reception took place on a balcony at the back (recurring theme?) before everyone took their seats downstairs for the wedding breakfast.
Speeches followed, complete with slideshow and giant pants, then the room was cleared for dancing and consumption of the giant jars full of (very strong) cocktails.
