London Rooftop Wedding Photography at Kensington Roof Gardens
London has some great venues that offer rooftop areas for your wedding celebrations. However, the king of these is Kensington Roof Gardens. Currently closed to the public, this amazing venue has 6,000 square metres of gardens on top of a former department store in the centre of London. The gardens have themed areas, and even their own flamboyance of flamingoes (yes, flamboyance – look it up).
Sam got ready with friends, family, and her daughter in a room to the side of the ceremony area. Lots of cow hide, lots of silk robes and a lot of fizz. She also had an amazing bouquet of orchids provided by floral designer Robbie Honey. Meanwhile, Andrew was helping set up for the ceremony and practicing his dance moves. Soon the time for the ceremony arrived, and after Sam made her entrance we had live acoustic guitar and a song from a friend of the couple. With the formal proceedings done, the couple had a few minutes alone before re-emerging through a cloud of confetti.
There was a drinks reception in the bar area whilst the main room was turned around, then it was time to eat. A barbecue buffet provided food and we were entertained by a few speeches. There was a little time for the wedding guests to wander the rooftop gardens and enjoy the views of central London. After that, the couple cut their Choccywoccydoodah cake before opening up the dance floor for the evening!
