Honourable Artillery Company Wedding Photography, London
My first time shooting a wedding at the Honourable Artillery Company, or The HAC to its friends. After having her hair done at a local salon, Lucy got ready with her family at her parents’ house in Hampstead. Her dad spent some of his time finishing his speech, and the bride spent some of her time looking after her and Sam’s six month old daughter. Once everybody was dressed they jumped in a convoy of cabs and headed down to the venue on City Road.
The HAC site consists of a number of different buildings, and the biggest garden in London at just over five acres. Lucy and Sam’s home for the day was in the Georgian manor house, specifically in the Long Room. There the guests had gathered for the wedding ceremony.

The ceremony (and the rest of the day) was being broadcast live via iPad to family abroad that couldn’t make it, hence the iPad suddenly making an appearance as Lucy came down the aisle! With the formalities complete it was time for a big group shot outside (a rare thing in mid-winter) featuring a few well-known faces, and once back into the warmth the guests enjoyed music conducted by Lucy’s brother.

As the drinks reception drew to a close the wedding moved back into the Long Room where the dining tables had been set up. There was also a very traditional-looking cake, with a not-so-traditional position for the bride and groom.
After dinner and speeches the family music continued into the evening with Sam’s father and brothers getting everyone warmed up for the dancing with some tinkled ivories and accordion.
