Off to Rutland again, and almost six years since my last wedding at Exton Park. However, it was my first time in the lovely little chapel behind the house, where Anna & Glynn had their ceremony.
With the ceremony completed it was just a short walk around the house to the huge lawn for the drinks reception, and if there was any doubt whether summer had arrived, the huge bowl of strawberries put paid to that. And the blazing sunshine of course. Then it was time to eat, followed by speeches, including one of the more hardcore best man speeches this year which left both the groom and his parents’ reputation in tatters.
The mums (and sisters and aunties) had their turn to shine once the dancefloor opened with well-rehearsed routine to ‘Jai Ho’ from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, which was a complete surprise to most there, including the bride and groom!
