This was one of my favourite weddings this year. Not because the father of the groom photographed the group shots (I’m free!), or because I had my own place setting and three course meal with the guests (never requested, but always gratefully received), or because the venue was very nice (it was), or because the female vicar was accommodating (more on that later), but because Laura and Simon are two lovely people who were very excited about their wedding photography and had surrounded themselves with lots of lovely friends and family who helped make my day very enjoyable.
Preparations were at base camp (Mitton Hall) organised with almost military precision, then off to St. Mary’s & All Saints Church in nearby Whalley. This was the first of two weddings I photographed in October, both with female vicars conducting the ceremony, but with completely differing approaches to wedding photography. Luckily for Laura and Simon their vicar was of the ‘help the photographer capture a great record of the ceremony’ school.
Returning to Mitton Hall I had the run of the reception (no groups remember), then speeches, tasty meal, quick wander through the gardens with the happy couple and then dancing. Quite full-on dancing, with lots of masks. Enjoy!
