I know Kate better than most of my clients. In fact I’ve known her for her whole life as she is my cousin! It also meant there were a few familiar faces despite it being a very small wedding of just close family and friends. Hair and make-up for all of the ladies in the wedding party happened just five minutes walk from Kate’s home in Cheltenham, and everything else happened five minutes the other way at the Montpellier Chapter hotel.
Jon and his best man got suited and booted at the aforementioned home, and it was a much grander suit than usual as they are both military men. They look very confident in the photos, but actually they felt a bit daft traipsing through Cheltenham, and having a photographer following presumably didn’t help! Unfortunate timing on arrival at the hotel meant that the bride got a sneak preview, but it wasn’t long before the ceremony in the conservatory with Kate’s nephew on ring duty. Drinks and canapés followed in the hotel courtyard and then a meal, with everyone around a single table.
Kate had put a lot of work into the wedding producing lots of decorative lace, designing little pamphlets to introduce all of the guests to each other, and ordering a book for each guest that would appeal to their interests. The couple also appeared later in personalised Converse. I’m lucky to have such a cool and creative family!
